“Old Tree” in black and white is a painting of a photo that I took on the banks of Loch Lomond many years ago, maybe 1984. I decided to complete the painting using only black and white paint and I added liquin to the black in order to raise the tree out of the canvas to include the heavy old bark on the tree.
Over the years the water has been eroding the soil around the roots and there is a hole large enough to sit in within the root structure.
